Installing the GlobalProtect VPN Client for Windows 10

  1. Go to and login with your Ramapo username (without @ramapo.edu) and password.
  2. Click the Download link pertaining to your System type of Windows you have installed. To determine the system type you have installed, please聽 refer to Appendix A at the end of this document.
  3. When you click the Download link, you鈥檒l be prompted to Run or Save the file. Click Run.
  4. The installation process will now start. Click Next throughout this process.

    You may get a warning message as shown below, you can click Yes.

    Finally, click Close.

     

  5. The GlobalProtect VPN Client, should now open. In the portal field, type remote.ramapo.edu then clickConnect.
  6. Input your Ramapo username (without @ramapo.edu) and password then click Sign In.
  7. You should now be connected and presented with a successful message as shown below. You can close out of this.
  8. You should also see Connected as your status in the GlobalProtect VPN Client.
  9. Congratulations you have successfully connected to the VPN!

Appendix A -Determine your System Type

  1. From the Start menu, type This PC then right click on the icon and select Properties
  2. You should see your System type, by viewing the System type:

  1. Go to and login with your Ramapo username (without @ramapo.edu) and password.
  2. Click the聽Download聽link for the Mac.
  3. When you click the聽Download聽link, it鈥檒l be saved to your computer and you can access it by going to your dock. Click the聽GlobalProtect 5.pkg聽file to run it.
  4. The installation process will now start. Click聽Continue聽throughout this process.Finally, click聽Install.
  5. Input your computer username and password for the installer to continue then click聽Install Software.
  6. Now, click聽Close.
  7. The GlobalProtect VPN client will open and then you will be presented with the System Extension Blocked warning message, click Open Security Preferences.
  8. Click聽Allow, then close the window.
  9. Reboot your computer.
  10. Now open the聽GlobalProtect VPN Client, and input聽remote.ramapo.edu聽in the portal field then click聽Connect.
  11. Input your Ramapo username (without @ramapo.edu) and password then click聽Connect.
  12. You should now be connected and presented with a successful message as shown below. You can close out of this.
  13. You should also see聽Connected聽as your status in the GlobalProtect VPN Client.
  14. Congratulations you have successfully connected to the VPN!
